It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce that KSPW 2019 will no longer be taking place.

The founders and volunteers of KSPW have been working on it for over two years, hosting a successful event in March 2018 with an array of wonderful speakers and almost 100 attendees. We had hoped to repeat that success with another inclusive, intersectional and inspirational event in March 2019, however the costs of putting something like this together have proved to be too high to manage.

We want to thank everyone who has supported us from the bottom of our hearts.

Those of you who have already bought or sponsored tickets, or made donations, will be contacted to arrange a refund. Any unclaimed money from ticket sales will be donated to our partner organisations, InsideOUT and ChangeMakers.

Thank you to those who have offered sponsorship this year, Victoria University of Wellington, DGSE, Dink Design, Fairground Accounting, Black Dog Brewery, CoLiberate and Frank Advice.

Thank you to our speakers Laura O’Connell Rapira, Nimeesha Odedra, Christina Leef, Dr Huhana Hickey, Georgina Beyer, Sandra Dickson, Fatumata Bah and Loretta Hunt-Tevaga, our performers Grace Cabauatan, Toni Huata and Hillary Reid and our MC Priscilla Edmonds.

Thank you finally to all of the volunteers who have given so much of their time and energy to this cause over the last few months. It would have truly been a special event, and if we could have found another way to make it happen, we would have.

We started this group in order to bring forward conversations about diversity, inclusivity and intersectionality, and we will continue to support and contribute to those discussions, just not through the format of KSPW.

We are heartbroken to say goodbye and we apologise, unreservedly, to anyone that we have let down.

Thank you,

Natalia Albert, Kate Gendall, Kim Partridge, Cesca Branch and the KSPW team.
